Important travel announcement!
New security regulations at airports require that the name on the ticket match the name on the government-issued id exactly.  This obviously applies only where the traveller has a govt-issed id.  Minors are not required to have a govt-issued picture id.

What is Colorado Select?
Colorado Select are teams sponsored by the Colorado Lacrosse Foundation, the official state chapter of the US Lacrosse organization.  The mission of the CLF is to grow and support the sport of lacrosse in Colorado.  To that end, Colorado Select teams are formed to provide a positive experience in which the players have an opportunity to learn and improve their game, be a contributing member of a team, make new friends, and have fun!

Colorado Select prides itself on providing our young athletes with an environment that promotes respect, camaraderie, good sportsmanship, refining individual lacrosse skills and enhancing team tactics.

Age Requirements:
· U-15 players must have been born in 1994 or later  (high school players—including 9th graders—are not eligible)
· U-13 players must have been born in 1996 or later
· U-11 players must have been born in 1998 or later

The criteria is that a player must be under the stated age as of 12/31/08.  In other words, U-13 players must have been under 13 (i.e., 12 or younger) on 12/31/08.

The Tryout Process:
The teams are selected after a rigorous tryout organized and implemented by CLF volunteers.  The selectors are entirely independent—no coaches or parents are permitted to volunteer as selectors for any age group in which their players or children are participating.

The Teams:
Boys:
U-15: At the conclusion of tryouts, 40 players will be selected from which two teams will be formed. Several alternates at each postion will also be named.  Team rosters will be announced at least one week before the Colorado Cup.

U-13: At the conclusion of tryouts, 40 players will be selected from which two teams will be formed.  Several alternates at each position will also be named.  Team rosters will be announced one week before the Colorado Cup.

U-11: At the conclusion of the tryout, 20 players will be selected for one team.  Alternates at each position will also be named.

Girls: At the conclusion of each level of tryouts, 18 players will be selected and the roster announced.

If you are chosen to play on any Colorado Select team and drop your roster spot for any reason other than injury, the Colorado Select Committee reserves the right to refuse future registrations to try out for Colorado Select teams.

The Coaches:
Coaches are volunteers chosen because of their lacrosse knowledge and background, as well as their commitment to helping young players love the sport of lacrosse.  Parents of Colorado Select players are not permitted to coach.

The Practices:
Generally, practices will begin after the regular league season is completed (i.e., after the Jamboree).  There will be a select number of workouts in May and we will do our best to not conflict with your spring team schedule. Beginning in early June, practices will be held 2-3 times a week at a Denver park.  Practices are generally held in the late afternoon/evening (since our volunteer coaches have day jobs and some of the players are in year round school).
