Colorado Select Tryout Rules and Regulations

1. Please complete one online registration per candidate and age division. If the application is not fully completed or does not include the waiver and appropriate fee paid, it WILL NOT be accepted. If the application and payment is not accepted, the candidate will not be considered until the application is complete.

2. Pre-register and save!  Your registration and non-refundable $30 tryout fee must be completed online by April 12, 2009 at midnight. Late registrations and walkups are discouraged, but will be permitted and cost $50 payable by cash or check only on day of tryout.

3. No parent or guardian can serve as the head or assistant coach, evaluator, or facilitator of a team on which his/her son or daughter is playing or is a candidate.

4. Tryouts are conducted by neutral evaluators and facilitators.  A person who coaches any player at that specific age level during the spring season CANNOT serve as an evaluator or facilitator at that age level.

5. Each player must supply his/her own equipment at the tryout (e.g., Stick; helmet or goggles; pads, etc.)

6. Limited financial assistance may be available to players based on economic need.

7. Only two coaches are permitted on the sidelines during games.

8. Individuals may coach at a specific age level for two consecutive years, then must take a year off.

9. Each player trying out must sign a Liability Waiver/Release and be a current member of US Lacrosse.

10. If selected, coaches expect each player to be proficient in the basic fundamentals of lacrosse: Throwing, catching, scooping, cradling, dodging, and team tactics.  Colorado Select Coaches will primarily focus on and teach team concepts for tournament play.

11. If selected, full payment of the Team/Player Fee and signed Commitment Letters must be post-marked not later than April 30, 2009.  After that date, players may be replaced by the next available Alternate identified by the evaluators at the tryout.
